Sheri Kimura Pilates ELDOA Toronto

Movement as a means to health and well-being and communicating about the body have been a part of Sheri’s life from an early age.  Even when working a desk job, Sheri taught dance and rock climbing on the side. Over the years, her “somatic curiosity” led her to various studies in Kinesiology, dance studies, Shiatsu, Eastern Medical Theory, and eventually SomaTraining (ELDOA and the methods of Guy VOYER, DO) and Pilates.

As of 2022, Sheri holds certifications in Pilates mat & equipment, ELDOA (Level 4), Myofascial Stretching, Global Postural Stretching, and Neuroflexibility.  She recently completed a SomaTraining course in Strengthening for the Abdominal Wall and Thoracic Diaphragm.

In class, Sheri’s focus is on how we can enhance and improve the quality of movement in local areas to affect a change globally. To create change at the micro- and macro-movement levels, we need to move differently, with awareness. Sheri hopes to offer equally enlightening and challenging sessions to each individual so that people may leave class feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally reinforced.

Most recently, Sheri has become one of a handful of ELDOA™ Teacher Trainers in Canada, offering courses in Levels 1 and 2 for those who wish to teach the method and understand it at a deeper level. She loves learning and exchanging experiences with others, and she deeply values the wisdom of her clients / students and fellow practitioners of all methods.
