Our classes make us special. We have small groups, and personalized programming and attention. Email us with any questions about what is right for you.
Rather than follow a teacher who may or may not be working at your level that day, our equipment classes have you working through a program designed for you during your initial private lessons. Each hour you “run” your program as a teacher busily corrects, encourages and guides you to better results. Like 3 privates in one room, you can expect to work at the pace that works for you and on movements that truly address what you need. Because of this individual attention we see excellent results. Our classes allow an athlete to workout next to a new mom, a grandparent and a teen athlete. Everyone benefits and everyone gets strong.
Personalized programs respond to your body’s needs on any given day – whether you’re sore, tight, or feeling energized. Plus, independent exercise works your brain, making good movement a habit and part of your everyday life. We strongly believe a self-directed approach is the best way to get results.
We have the full range of Pilates equipment, not just Reformers, so you’ll work out on the chair, cadillac, barrel, and more. This means you’ll work from the complete system of the Pilates method. Our 3:1 student/teacher ratio ensures a safe, productive class that’s also affordable.
To join a group equipment class, you’ll need at least 4 private sessions with one of our teachers. Some people like to develop a program more slowly and take longer, some people are ready after 4 lessons. We’ll work with you at your pace to get you set up for success.

Mat Classes
Our mat classes are rooted in techniques that help prepare the body for optimal function and enjoyment - whether that is on the tennis court, picking up the kids, or just preparing you for the sport of life. Our teachers are exceptional and lead by example. We believe in having fun while we move and feeling great in the body we call home.
All bodies and all people are welcome in our spaces and we strive to create inclusive environments.
We run both online and in-person mat classes. Check the schedule and your receipt to ensure you are coming in person for the appropriate class
Pilates Mat
Whole Body and Beginner Mat:
The Pilates Method’s mat repertoire is focused on a strong trunk and a supple spine. These classes encompass movements that fire up the “core” and much more (think back muscles and hips). They also make sure your spine keeps moving. As Joseph Pilates said, You are only as young as your spine and we believe it.
We aim to take the Pilates mat repertoire and use it to connect you to your whole body from your strong centre outward to your limbs. We use props to keep things fun and engaging, and always provide both a challenge and modifications to keep the class safe for each client.
ELDOA
Developed by French Osteopath Guy Voyer of Marseilles France, “ELDOA” is a revolutionary stretching technique designed to improve overall spine and joint health.
ELDOA exercises target every level of your spine to create space and relieve compression around each vertebrae. ELDOA is very effective for those with back pain, spinal issues, or disc related injury, and it’s a great way to help ward off degeneration. ELDOA classes are vigorous but also incredibly restorative. You’ll leave wanting more.
Used by athletes for recovery and ordinary folks for longevity, we have been teaching ELDOA since the inception of our studio and remain the Annex and Wychwood areas longest running ELDOA program.
Strength
These classes target all the areas of the body that your physiotherapist wishes you had strong before that injury – truly preventative health care at it’s finest. Pre-hab your body by getting strong feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders and trunk muscles – injury proofing your body joint by joint.
We use the Strength work from the creator of the ELDOA method Guy Voyer called “myofascial strength conditioning”, stretches from his “myofascial stretching” and other tried and true exercises that keep you healthy and ready for all life has to offer.
Restorative, Mobility, and After Desk Workouts:
As a group of teachers who continually study to upgrade our skills, you’ll notice we have alot of special tricks up our sleeves.
In Restorative, expect to use some Functional Range Conditioning CARS (Controlled Articular Rotations), fine tune your body and even restore your nervous system to the “calm” setting.
In Mobility, work to buy back range in your joints and strengthen your body.
In our online After Desk Workout you might even see some dance moves aimed to restore your love for life after a day at the desk. Come and explore movement with us.
"In the past three years - in good times and in hard times - coming to Inhabit Pilates has helped my overall wellbeing. I appreciate the calibre, commitment and attitude of the instructors. In addition, it is great to meet the other participants and feel like one belongs to the Inhabit community. And the fact that it is a lovely walk from our house helps make it sustainable.”
